High School Ball No Help

If the state of Colorado is the biggest wasteland of college basketball in the country, then high school basketball has to take some of the blame.


Look it up and try telling college basketball recruiters they're missing the boat by missing Colorado. Bob Gibbons is the Lenoir, N.C.-based editor of All-Star Scouting Service, to which 250 college staffs subscribe. He also covers recruiting for and has covered the hoops meat market for 32 years.

"I'd ask you right now: Who is the best senior in the state of Colorado, and who is the best rising senior?" he said. "I do the top 150 for There are no names of Colorado kids and I don't know who to contact.


"It tells me that basketball is not a top priority."
